The Rollei Extremium Circular Filter ND8 overcomes these restrictions and extends the available exposure times by three stops. The even and absolutely color-neutral gray tint prevents color shifts during exposure.
The Rollei Extremium Circular Filter ND8 is made from particularly durable Gorilla Glass and temperature-resistant titanium. The special glass from the American traditional manufacturer in Corning, New York, undergoes a special coating process – the glass blanks must endure in a hot alkaline solution for an extended period – resulting in an enormously increased surface tension. This maintains excellent light transmission, and distortions do not occur. The temperature-resistant titanium ring ensures that the filter glass is not subjected to pressure and shear forces, allowing it to be easily removed from the lens even after demanding shoots in nature and bad weather.
With the Luminance Coating, an additional coating of the excellent glass is achieved, significantly improving mechanical resistance while maintaining distortion-free performance and the highest possible color neutrality. Even the slightest shifts in color values at the shooting location can have negative effects on all subsequent editing steps.
