Loving Reaper - Hiraeth - And We Were Left Behind: Touching Comics About Respectful Treatment of Animals

“Hiraeth” refers to something that once was but is no longer – and is greatly missed. This Welsh word describes a widespread feeling: a deep longing for a place, a person, a home, or a time that is irretrievably lost. An unattainable nostalgia… What wouldn’t we give to hear that voice, that creak, that purr once more or to feel that warmth again – all that which has definitively slipped away from us. In her second volume, Jenny Jinya also draws attention to the ruthless behavior of humans towards animals. Many of her stories are filled with deep sadness and touch us in painful ways, but they also evoke compassion that may lead to a more thoughtful and responsible treatment of other living beings.
